Tan picked up a camera at seventeen to photograph a friend's wedding out of pure curiosity — and never put it down. What began as a favor became a decade-and-a-half practice built on one belief: a photograph should feel like the moment it was taken, not a performance of it.
After years assisting on editorial sets and shooting weddings on weekends, Tan opened a full-time studio in Kolkata, now working across weddings, portraiture, fashion and commercial campaigns for clients across India and abroad.
The philosophy hasn't changed since that first wedding: show up early, watch closely, and be ready for the moment that was always going to happen — without asking anyone to perform for the camera.
